On the strength of its manufacturing capabilities, the Pharmaceutical Industry in India is expected to grow significantly this decade. Competition is expected to emerge from geographies that are able to provide low-cost labour. The choice of manufacturing location will be determined by the availability of skilled workforce, overall efficiency, embedded compliance and rapid scalability to meet demand.

Raising workforce skill levels that is commensurate to the demand of manufacturing growth can only be enabled through employee engagement & enterprise-ready learning management systems. Rapid automation is helping remote works stay productive. Technology that can eliminate redundant processes, enforce compliance and continue to enhance productivity. Ability to run fungible plants and scale manufacturing capacity to address demand will be differentiators. Utilizing technology to build Competitive Compliance would be the hall-mark of the best-run life-sciences companies.

The adoption of technology in the pharmaceutical industry needs to improve significantly. Users are not sufficiently enabled to adopt digital tools, benefit from automation and make data-enabled decisions. In this session, we will examine what it takes to empower the user in the post-pandemic world where the pharma industry is under the spotlight. Specifically, we will examine the role of technology in de-imagining business functions such as manufacturing, QA/ QC, product development & tech. transfer. The foundational and differentiating role of HR and IT will also be covered as we discuss the following questions:

  • How can technology help your function – what is basic, what is a differentiator and what can set you apart?
  • How equipped is your staff to adopt such technology? Can you talk about the maturity levels across the spectrum?
  • What are initiatives you are currently working on and where do you see the gaps?
